From May 28-31, the golf world will congregate to beautiful Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, Texas for the Crowne Plaza Invitational. As the architect responsible for Colonial’s recent course renovations, Keith Foster, ASGCA recently discussed the course and the upcoming golf tournament.

Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial Preview :
The PGA Tour’s three-week swing through Texas finishes this week with the Crowne Plaza Invitational at Colonial, which unfortunately might be more noteworthy for who’s not playing in the event.
With Tiger Woods set to return to the Tour next week at the Memorial, he is taking another week off. And Phil Mickelson, the defending champion, also won’t be at historic Colonial in the wake of the news last week that his wife is undergoing treatment for breast cancer.
That’s not to say there’s not a quality field, as six of the top money-winners on Tour are here: Geoff Ogilvy, Zach Johnson, Sean O’Hair, Kenny Perry, Rory Sabbatini and Paul Casey. Ogilvy and Johnson are the only two players in the field to have won twice on Tour this year.
Past winners of this event in the field are Sabbatini (2007), Tim Herron (2006), Perry (2003, 2005), Steve Flesch (2004), Corey Pavin (1985, 1996), Tom Lehman (1995), Fulton Allem (1993) and Ian Baker-Finch (1989).
